Depop

If purchasing one of many mass-produced clothing items from your favourite high street store leaves you feeling vulnerable to showing up to an event in the same outfit as someone else (we’ve all been there), why not try something different?

Depop is an online market-place where users can buy and sell clothing and accessories. Simplistic in it’s design, makes it easy to search and buy new, second-hand and vintage items of clothing for a percentage of the price you would pay in stores.

It is also equally as straightforward to upload and sell your unwanted clothing items rather than throwing them away or leaving them to collect dust in your wardrobe.

Dirty Disco

“Vintage really is the Holy Grail of sustainable fashion”

Inspired by the film, ‘The True Cost’ and the book ‘No Logo’ by Naomi Klein, Dirty Disco was founded to provide an alternative to Fast Fashion, offering unique, vintage pieces of clothing.

Dirty Disco’s product range is currently 99% vintage, which means almost everything in their web store is 100% recycled - with the exception of tote bags which are 100% Organic Cotton. By focusing vintage products, Dirty Disco have managed to dramatically reduce waste compared to the majority of Fashion brands.

Each garment is washed using chemical free detergents and steamed, so that you’d never know it’d had a life before you started your love affair. They also ensure that all textiles are fully recycled by donating any leftover stock to local charities and aim to have 100% recycled, plastic-free packaging landing on doorsteps by the end of 2018.
