The Raw Chocolate Company

Indulging in chocolate can be a guilt-free experience. Raw, or cold-processed ingredients (never heated above 42°c) generally means less energy is used during preparation, and that traditional methods such as sun-drying are are used. All cacao and vanilla ingredients are Fairtrade, and all ingredients used are certified Organic. The cacao powder, butter and nibs are non-chemically treated.

Printed material, including packaging, is printed with vegetable based inks using an eco-friendly print-process which reduces the amount of harmful chemicals released into our water supply. Paper is either 100% recycled or a mix of recycled fibres and pulp from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) managed forests.

Ecotricity provide the factory with 100% green electricity - they are a company committed to clean, renewable energy. This means that production of our chocolate has resulted in zero carbon dioxide emissions, relieving pressure on the environment.

Accreditations include: Fairtrade, The Soil Association, Vegan Society, Vegetarian Society and Kosher. They do not use palm oil.

Divine Chocolate

“Owned by cocoa farmers. Made for chocolate lovers”

Divine is 44% owned by the cocoa farmers of the Kuapa Kokoo co-operative in Ghana. The cocoa from Kuapa Kokoo is grown on individual smallholder farms which have been in farming families for generations, not on plantations that require clearing of rainforest trees. The farmers of Kuapa Kokoo are actively conserving the tall forest trees both for the environment and because cocoa grows best in the shade of the rainforest canopy.

All the cocoa, sugar and vanilla used to make Divine chocolate are certified Fairtrade. No palm oil is used in any of their products.

Twin, the NGO that helped to set up Divine, is also working with its trading partners in Africa and Latin America, many of whom grow tree crops in tropical rainforests, to help them find ways to adapt to and mitigate the impact of climate change.
